If you love face oils, you’ll love adding a nighttime face oil to your beauty routine. You’ve probably heard of sleep referred to as “rest and repair mode”. Sleep is a time when our body goes into much needed repair. Bones, organs, and illness all benefit from sleep as a time to heal. Your skin is no exception.
This blog is all about making a DIY nighttime face oil.
Put your sleep to good use by using a nighttime face oil to keep your skin hydrated, soft and healthy looking. You will love this DIY night oil. It’s easy to make and customizable.
If you don’t like these essential oils you can choose any other skin friendly oil. Just be sure to keep them at low dilution. Essential oils work best in skin care when the dilution is quite low. I recommend beginning at 0.5% essential oil, but do not go over 1% in oils for the face. Stay away from citrus oils here as they are phototoxic. Even though this is meant to be a night oil, you may forget or be tempted to use it during the day.
To ensure that you get the most out of your nighttime face oil with rosehip, keep these tips in mind:
Make sure that you add rosehip oil to your formulations at a lower temperature. This helps to prevent quick oxidation, and helps to keep its efficacy.
It’s important to look for organic rose hip oil. Roses are often heavily sprayed with pesticides, making organic rosehip oil a safer and more environmentally friendly choice.
Double check the expiry date of your oil before buying it. Rosehip oil may have a short shelf life.
Store it in a dark glass container in your fridge to get the longest use out of it that is possible.
