Lemongrass Peppermint Foot Soak
Equipment
- 1 Glass bowl
- 2 Silicone ice cube trays, with small to medium sized cavities
- 1 Gloves
- 1 Whisk
- 1 Silicone mixing spoon if desired
- 1 Mesh strainer
Ingredients
- 1 cup Baking soda
- 1/2 cup Citric Acid
- 1/4 cup Arrowroot powder
- 1/2 tablespoon Hydrogen peroxide (optional)
- 3 teaspoons Witch hazel
- 20 drops Lemongrass essential oil
- 10 drops Peppermint essential oil
Instructions
- Place the strainer over the glass bowl and sift the baking soda, citric acid and arrowroot powder to get rid of any clumps. Mix the powders in the bowl together with your hands or with the aid of a whisk.
- Create a hole in the center of the powders and add the hydrogen peroxide. Carefully mix this into the powder.
- Add the lemongrass essential oil and mix the powder together. Add the peppermint essential oil and continue to mix until everything is blended together and there are no clumps in the bowl.
- Add the witch hazel a few drops at a time and continue mixing. You will want the mixture to feel a bit damp and it will hold a shape when you squeeze the mix in your hand. You may not need all of the witch hazel in your dropper. If you need any more be sure to add it very slowly in small amounts.
- Once the mixture is holding a shape press it into the silicone ice cube tray. Make sure you pack the powder firmly. When you have placed all of the mixture into the ice cube tray, let it sit for 24 hours.
- Pop out the cubes and store in an airtight container for 6 months.
- When you are ready to use the cubes, fill a small tub with warm water for your feet. Add one of the cubes for a fizzy relaxing foot bath. Enjoy!
