How to use Essential Oils for Back to School
Diffuse your favourite blend
Place a few drops of your essential oil blend into your diffuser before or after school. Diffused oils are most effective when the diffuser runs for 30 minutes and then is shut off. Give your kids and your environment a break in time before turning the diffuser on again. Make sure that you are timing your diffuser for maximum safety.
Aromatic jewelry
Allow aromatic jewelry, a necklace or bracelet, to help your kids throughout the day. Place two drops of your essential oil blend onto the lava stones before allowing your child to wear it, to avoid oils getting onto their skin undiluted. The scent of the oils may provide comfort throughout the day and remind them that you are there to support them when they need it.
Roller blend
Older kids can carry their own portable stress relief in the form of a roller bottle. Create a roller bottle with their favourite essential oil blend and carrier oil. Apply to pulse points as needed throughout the day. The roller bottle is a better option high school aged kids whereas the aromatic jewelry may be a better option with younger kids. This way, the amount of essential oil used by younger kids may be controlled by you.
In the busy back-to-school season, as schedules realign and students reacquaint themselves with the classroom, let the power of essential oils support them along the way. With aromatherapy, you’re not just sending them off to school; you’re equipping them with the tools to conquer challenges with grace and focus.
Essential oils can be powerful allies, but each one comes with unique safety precautions. Do not use any of these oils with kids under 4 years old without speaking to a qualified professional first.
